It's a Platte Thang!

After last weekend overlapping the dirt events at the CSG, we had another great turnout for the Sunday Platte ride. almost 15 peeps. Cornbread took the early props by riding out to the park. 4am departure time after only 3 hours of sleep. Big thanks to Butch, Ryan and MG for clearing the webs on lap one. The trails are mega dusty, hopefully the rain last night settled it down a bit.

Pancakes fell in a rocky corner and chewed up her knee. Thank god Larry had a first aid kit so Martin could play medic. I learned how to clean a cut the proper way.

On the personal side, I cleaned the new log ride twice, first time ever. So I could have bonked and crashed and it still would've been a good ride. MG and I were rippin' the gully so hard I thought I was going to pile drive myself into the berms. Do those GPS things measure G-force?

We've officailly been recognised by the ladies at the lodge. So no excuses CVO, they're expecting us every Sunday now. Did I mention how good the bacon is? Just ask MG!

MW, Ryan and I saddled back up for the ride back to Bellvue/Omahole. Took the MoPac north, trail is really dirty with branches and stuff. After spouting off to Larry and Ryan about how great tubeless and stans is and the fact I haven't flatted in a year and a half with it, yeah I punctured. But I had stans baby! 50 pumps from MW's pump and I was over inflated. Gravel roads were a cooker. Glad I made it home in one piece.

End of day tally, 2hours singletrack, 7 pieces of bacon and 2:45 of gravel, pave' mix. Longest day I've had in a while. Thanks for the quality time boys and girls!

nice ridin' with all of you guys and gals yesterday. mod, you aren't joking on those gully downhills -- we were going WAY into our suspension travel from the g-forces... shit, it's just fun to ride with someone that is that fast on the dh!

i'll very likely have a super mystery guest with me for next week's sunday ride. a friend of mine from colorado is coming to see his sister in omaha, so he's looking to rip it up while he's here.

mmmm... that bacon is the best!! i was so stuffed -- i don't know how you guys rode back to omaha with that much food on-board!!!

cheers,
mg

man, that ride thru town was pretty good too. i like those old neighborhoods. that little cluster of sweet houses by that ravine were sweet.
