I just got done listening to Boob Costas on the Daily Show telling Jon Stewart that he doesn't find the Tour very interesting.
"It's not as exciting as watching baseball or football"
Baseball! give me frigin' break. It's a sport that when you can hit a ball 40% of the time it makes you one of the all time greats! I'd have like five doctorates if I only needed 40% to pass.
The mainstream media really sucks, but you probably already knew that.

If I wanted to, I could use my TiVo to reduce a four-hour baseball game down to about 25 minutes of action.
So what does that say about a sport Costas thinks is exciting?
25 minutes is being generous for baseball.
Has anybody read Skip Bayless? Go to ESPN.com, find his "Page 2" columns on Lance and the tour, or google them to find a few from the past few years. They will get your blood boiling.
I have no problem with the guy saying Lance isn't the greatest athlete of all time. Cycling is admitedly an endurance heavy sport, but the guy says it takes NO athletic skill to ride a bike. And that Lance was never tested or put on the line in any of the tours. ???
Face it, the "Sports" writers and broadcasters in this country could care less about cycling because it doesn't have a "stick or ball." And after SEVEN YEARS of Lance, they havent' bothered to learn ANYTHING about the sport.
Sorry for the tirade, I know I'm preaching to the choir here.
the mainstream sports writer think they are "just riding bikes." that means they simply just don't understand.
Rox, its funny you looked at it that way, I started hating him when he made a fool of himself by going on Oprah and when I saw John Kerry in the car at the start of the last time trial I tried jinxing him to crash out of the tour.
