Round up

Had a good little group at Platte this morning. Larry and Alex, Roxz and RF, T-bone and myself. A couple more hours of dry time and it would have been perfect. Looks like quite a bit of rain fell as there was some pretty decent erosion in parts. The morning was mint though, 60 degrees with no wind. Finished the ride on the west side by the waterfall. Trails are really overgrown and need some clearing. Anyone up for some additional trimming? MG, CVO and Butch did a great job on the east trails.

Shawn, Dave and Lanson rode out from Stincoln. Dave and Lanson then rode home after the buffet. Weirdman finally made it out, albeit a half hour late. We didn't get to ride together but we were entertained at breakfast.

Park Ranger said someone broke their leg in a crash Saturday. Had to drive 'em out on a four wheeler to the ambulance. Anybody know any details or who it was?

Where was everyone? Okay, it was little wet, I forgive you. Next week is Hitchcock. I guess they've been doing trail prep work out there. Where's the e-mails? I'd have loved to help.

Rave - Thanks boyz for clearing the trails at Platte. I hope that your example of getting people together to do trail work rubs off up here. Seems there's a communication breakdown of sorts. Can someone hire a secretary for Rusty?

Good times on the bacon ride. The temps were straight out of Colorado. I think including the west side will make for a great Sunday ride. Do both sides once and hit the bacon buffet. A few years ago we'd park on the west side and start there, go to the east side and back. Sump'n to think about.

See ya next time.

Hitchcock Report
It's gonna hurt. But in a good way! Trails were nice and tacky yesterday. There will for sure be one hike a bike after you get to the bottom of the first descent. The rest I climbed, but hey, I only did two laps, and not at race pace, so if that tells you anything. The rain barriers on the double-track downhill in the middle are still there. They don't seem as high this year, but you'll need to take precautions. Overall, same route as previous years. Should be a 30min. lap time for experts. I heard they're doing 4 laps and sport are doing 3. We're expecting rain on Thursday, so that should be just about perfect timing for Saturday's race. I think the starting line might change too. C'mon out and show us what you've got. We still have lots of tshirts for sale. $20!
