I'm actually really impressed. The thing was smooth and predictable from the first pedal stroke. Manawa is a bit too lumping for the low BB, but it also makes the bike really stable. I wouldn't mind if it was just a bit higher. For a stock steel bike, no compliants, although I'm sure the $500 fork inhances the ride quality slightly.
I'm still waiting for my scale at the shop, but I'd say sub-20, probably closer to 19. I think my Marin was about 18.5 and it's only slightly heavier. I've got room to lighten it up though. It still has the Select wheels and Race CX cranks.
For as much as I could be suckin' this year an extra 1/2 a pound won't make much difference. I need to lay off the bacon first!
