Thanks for putting a smile on faces of R(3). Seeing all of your smiles made the weekend's work worth it! Thanks to all the peeps who lent a hand. They were invaluable! The cave really rocked. Thanks for coming to the party. R(3) - Roxz, RF, Rusty

Hearing everyone's thanks for a great weekend -might- be better than hearing congratulations on a race win.

When you get to the top of climb, smile.

a very well put on race for sure. the distance from home is certainly a factor as far as trail work and maint and course set up and all that but not for you folks. it was in great shape and well marked and all that.

that course if brutal on a single speed. you should try it if you haven't. all year i have been consistantly running the lowest gear in the group and that's been to my advantage until last weekend. wow. i found out what happens when you run a taller gear. you go faster out there because, altho there appears to be a ton of climbing, and there is, there is also alot of flats and alot of fast downs. there were still two long medium grade climbs where i certainly love that trail because the SS is perfecto.

another thought. i wish they didn't run thru there with the huge trail machine. remember back in 93. that place was wide single track and double track. it was wide still but not quite like it is now. better then no trail tho. and it's unique.

Caves is my favorite course of the entire series...getting those text messages on Saturday night was pretty cool. I wish I could have been there to race...nice job you guys!

The front -end loader they use to build water bars on the downhills made me nervous. So when you're hittin the DH at 25 mph those water bars/runoff areas look like a nicely bermed turn.... into nothing. Even riding slow while marking the course it becomes evident that we needed lots of signs so riders could look ahead for their lines with confidence.

Everyone ought to be excited about the Platte River Riot Oct 29. Platte is so sweet in the fall, and its coordinated with the THOR fundraiser-- that should be a great weekend of racing as well. And it gives me some motivation to get some fitness back-- hopefully I'll be racin at Platte!

amen fagan -- i think that race at platte will be super duper fun. since it'll be in the middle of 'cross season, i doubt anyone will be too serious about it, so fun should rule the day!

cheers,
mg

Not so fast my friend...rumor has it Travis Brown and Cameron Chambers will be lining up for some "fun." Details coming soon...

Travis Brown better be on a singlespeed. Tell him to come to town a week early and do the Omaha Cx race.

giddy up!
