Trevin & Tara: Going Away Send-Off

For any of you that know Trevin, owner of the Bike Way, his wife Tara and their family, you'll want to know about tomorrow night.

Trevin has owned the Bike Way for 5+ years now in three different locations. I first met him at his 89th & Maple location during the spring of 2000, and he was super helpful when I was picking out my first bike, and I wasn't even sure what mountain biking was. He's been a friend, rider, coach, and more ever since. One of my first group rides with him at Platte, I knocked myself out cold, and he helped get me ride home. (I also first met Roxy on that ride.... but she wasn't about to take me home.... yet!) His shop has gone from a small garage to quite a large space with a ton of stuff for every style of rider... And well, his entreprenurial instincts are taking him on a new journey.

Trevin is taking an temporary opportunity to become a construction contractor/project manager in the rebuilding efforts in Missippi. As you know, Mitch is taking over the day to day ops at the shop. Trevin says its an opportunity he can't pass up, a way to expand his skills, and certainly an investment in his growing family's financial security. He plans to be back in a year, but he will be missed.

Folks are gathering for a festive send-off at 7:30pm, Wed Nov 2, at the Pizza Shoppe in Benson. If you know Trevin & Tara, you oughtta be there. I know I'll be. Come out & wish Trevin luck. Hope to se ya there.

Had to work way late and missed the gig. Sorry! I left messages for both Tara and Trev. Yep, Trev has also been very very good to me. I will miss him and Tara while they are away.
