We need your help

Rusty is putting together the proposal for TTF (Technical Trail Feature) number two at Manawa. The land managers checked out the first phase and they were excited and impressed with the work. Hence the ability to keep moving with more projects. Rusty fronted the money for materials in the first phase but it's up to us to fund phase 2.

Each phase will cost about $300 in material cost. BMD is in for $50, I'm in for $25, so we only need $225 more. There has to be 9 of you out there that can throw down $25 each so we can get phase 2 the financial backing. LtD, Nick, GG, Skinny D, MG, T-bone, Nut, RF, only need one more, who am I missing???

The goal is to not use THOR funds for these projects that only a few will use. So if you're one of those few, sign up and help us get the wheels turning on the wagon.

I'm in for $25 with one condition, you have to show me how to ride them. Who do I send the money to?
Jim

Hey Rusty, Jim has a good question. Where do we send the money to.

Jim, the road rider? I promised Shim, then Kent, you will have to be third in line. Sorry guys, just kidding. You know I love the roadies too.

Thank you Jim you are too kind. Send the money to the address list on the membership form, with a note attached as Lake Manawa TTF fund please. You can find the membership form on www.TrailsHaveOurRespect.org

i'm in for 25 bucks.

I can either send it to Omahole
or

you can come and get it at the Bo race

if you need it before that race, let me know I'll mail it somewhere.

where, I have no idea....

Just because I can't ride them doesn't mean I'm not impressed with all the hard work done by everyone. By the way Rusty I can ride a mountian bike, I was Psycopath Sport Champion in 97 or 98! and placed 4th in the Cactus Cup(glory days) Luckly my road fitness made up for my lack of bike handling skills! Good job everyone I hope to help out soon.

Rusty,

Use some THOR money. It is to improve trails, buy trail building equipment and improve trail heads. Even though there is a small audience for the terrain park now if you build it up it will draw new folks in, and isn't that one of the THOR fundimental concepts?

If you build it they will come...

My two cents.

Use thor money it can raise more.

i just got off the phone with T-bone, he's in for $25.

So we're up to $150, only $150 to go.

Nick and GG, you guys gotta get the big hit guys on board. I don't know all of them but I know they ride the stuff out there.

Here's my deal.

I'll throw in 25 smackers if THOR matches my donation.

Saw the new creation at Manawa today and if you keep building obstacles of that calibre it is money well spent.

And you know me and logs rides...

I think a donation box at a couple of bike shops for thor would be a good idea. kinda like that little guilt trip you get when your gettin a big mac. through a couple of cents or a few bucks in there, it's good karma.

GG and I are going to Home Depot this weekend to see how much we can get donated. I had a lot of success getting materials donated from them when I was in high school. We'll talk to the big hit boys who ride manawa quite a bit.

I gave my "wishlist" to nwenn, hopefuly he can work some magic, he's engaged to GG's sister, so he is probably a pretty smooth talker. Sorry, kidding. Anywho...Good luck with the supplies and let me know how you make out.

The funds for T.H.O.R. go like this. We have signs and kiosks to put into Swanson, Tranquility, Platte, Jewell, possibly Wilderness and Branched Oak. The average cost to do this will be around $1000 per park. That is $6000. We also need to acquire to additional tools, need some publications/documents produced, pay for club type expenses (website, IMBA dues, etc). I alone at Manawa could drain the T.H.O.R. account. The above activities still would need to be done. As we gain momementum with the TTF's and people using them, maybe someday we can use some $ out of the general fund. But first signage should remain a priority. It is advertising for our club and establishes the identity of T.H.O.R.

I treat the spending as an investment in the future of the sport. Where do we get our biggest bang for the buck. In my opinion it is in catering to the novice and newbie riders and getting them hooked and in developing new areas to keep an interest level high. Yes I know Manawa is a new area and the TTF's keep an interest, but at a somewhat lower priority than new trails. My thoughts....

THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT!

I think you should advertise your list of materials. You may be suprised at the number of people who come to the blogs and may have access to some of the materials your looking for.

you'd be surpised,

next thing ya know, some dude who rides bikes and is the manager of a hardware store see's the blog, see's your plight, and bam.
hooked up.

crazyier things have happend.

I agree with Rusty, THOR money right now needs to be spent on higher priority projects such as trail signange, trailhead markers, website fees and tools.

THOR's money is not endless. Outside of the Highgear/LBC annual fundraiser, I am not aware of much coming in. (Rusty - correct me if I am wrong.) I am not even sure if many have signed up and paid membership dues. THOR is legit, so sign up and pay your dues already!

That being said I will throw down 25 buck-a-roos to support all things cycling. I can't log ride to save my life, but I am down for it.

Wait a minute. I have a great idea. How about y'all pledge $1 for every foot I can ride down the TTF before bailing off in some ridiculous manner. Martin can match your pledge up to $25. I should be able to make it a least a foot and raise a buck or two for TTF's. (-:

If that doesn't work maybe GG can ride it on cylco-cross tires after a beer boot! (I don't want everyone to go broke.) I'll pledge $1 per foot on that one.

You down for that GG?

Four words. "Log Ride Black Race". Ten bucks to enter, and I'll donate all of my prizes from the Thor fund raiser. You get three shots at the current TTF, American Gladiator Stylie. Total up the number of feet to come up with your winners.
