damn, I'll be in colorado,
or more in-factly,
on my way back from colorado.
Prior to the meeting we would like people to submit ideas for projects they would like to see Thor develop. We will do some list reduction and consolidation prior to the meeting and discuss items at the meeting based on resources required and try to develop a 2006 project priority list. We will also establish dates and timelines.
By doing this in advance it should help us make the most of the two hours we have available to us.
Thanks for your input.
How about a trail map for Platte River State Park. That would keep you busy :)
How many members are there in THOR?
here are some of my initial thoughts shim:
1.) upgrade signeage and develop a strategy for establishing a directional trail flow on the "horse trail" trails at platte river state park. (a map of the platte river state park/trails does exist -- fyi 5th circle -- jesse p. has it, and it may be on the THOR site if i'm not mistaken).
2.) document recent trail building successes at jewell and lake manawa to help open other park managers' eyes to the opportunities upgraded trails provide to them and their users. rusty may have much of this already -- but i'm not sure. we definitely need something like that to put in-front of Lincoln Parks & Rec. right now, they can't even grasp to the fact that cyclists and pedestrians can safely/happily use the same trails!
3.) the omaha crew has been very successful in generating a high level of excitement, support and thus ACTION in their 2005 trail building efforts. for 2006, i'd like to see some of that trail building momentum filter out beyond the omaha area. off-road cyclists in lincoln and other places need to step-up the effort... this is a direct challenge to myself as much as anything, but i'd like to discuss how we can start to build that momentum of desire for new trails outside of the omaha metro, of course leveraging the great work you guys have done up there.

No trail map for it on THOR.
