Road bikes for off-road riders

I don't know if I'll be able to live without one of these. I posted some photos of this sweet ride when I was up at the Trek show. One magically appeared in the back of a UPS truck this morning which leads me to believe that this is MIB's new commuter. Avid road discs, disc specific road wheels and one of the new Switchblade Satelite Plus carbon forks. There's some interesting rivnuts on the inside of the fork blades. Not quite sure what they are for but looks like you may be able to run a full wrap fender without caliper interference. The brake position on the back is fender compatible. It comes with a pretty sweet pair of clip on fenders though. It's has the new 10spd 105 stuff on it as well. All built up with pedals, 22 1/4 pounds, not bad for a disc brake road bike super commuter. Oh yeah, it's called the Portland.

Oh yeah... I used to lust after one of those when it was called a "cyclocross bike".

Yeah, yeah. I'm not ditchin' the Poprad. But come on, carbon fork, disc only. Freakin' thing is sweet! Evil Homer's got a niner switchblade on order, can't wait to see it.

You are correct though RF, the geometry on the Portland is almost identical to their 'cross bike. The BB is lower, you know for dodging mid-town traffic. Now if you would have been on one of these instead of that 26'r of yours new years eve, you might not be so skinned up! Tell ya what, I'll make you deal!

Nice bike, I think they finally made what I am looking for. Either that one or the FX 7.6
