Saturday morning at Swanson

Nothing like getting in a good ride and watching the sun come up. Swanson was frozen and fast this morning. It was like riding on sandpaper (sweet bacon).

Friend and I went to Platte this morning. It was also frozen and "sweet bacon", I think? It was good riding anyway!

Yea, it was frozen. It was also frozen Sunday am too. Big difference in the smoothness of the trails from Sat to Sun. I just want to thank all the idiots that came out to Swanson Saturday afternoon and destroyed the trails. Here are a few hints to help you determine if the trails are rideable: #1: if it's after 9am and sunny the trails are starting to thaw regardless of the temp. #2: if it feels like you are riding with flat tires. #3: if you can't see you knobbies because your tires are packed with mud. #4: if mud is flying off you tires. #5: if your tires won't spin because they are packed with mud. #6: your can see your tread pattern in the ground.

Just because you drove to the trails dosen't mean you have to do a lap and destroy them. You can always ride keystone, do urban assualt, wash you bike, take a nap, or do whatever.
