T.H.O.R Goes Big In 2006

We had good turnout Sunday night at Platte River S.P. for what I hope will be it's annual planning meeting. The THOR juggernaut began rolling last fall and is not showing any sign of being slowed. We built the phase I TTF project at Manawa, which after inspection from the park, phase II was quickly approved. The Fall Festival raised a unprecedented $2000. 3 1/2 miles of trail were built at Jewell park in only two weeks. And it has recently been announced that Tranquility Park has been awarded a $500 IMBA/NORBA grant for trail signage.

Trail signage will be a THOR focus for 2006 by erecting trail kiosks and on trail sign posts. Course clean-up for the Psycowpath race series will again be handled by THOR members. We are also proud to announce the expansion of THOR into the Sioux City area. Jay Chesterman, with the help of THOR, will be working to develop riding areas in the upper Missouri river valley area.

For 2006, the torch will be carried by:
Chairman - Mike Resetar
Treasurer - Don Raskey
Secretary - Anne Sykes & Mark Savery
PR - Matt Gersib
Webmaster - Mitch Kline
IMBA Representative - Jesse Petersen

Trail Team Leaders:
Lewis & Clark - Todd Matheson
Lake Manawa S.P. - Steven Dickey
Swanson Park - Paul Ullman, Martin & Christine Bixby
Jewell Park - Steve Jarrett
Tranquility Park - Dale Rabideau
Platte River S.P. - Jesse Petersen
Branched Oak S.R.A. - Matt Gersib
Wilderness Park - Matt Gersib

Trails Have Our Respect (T.H.O.R) is a not for profit organization focused on becoming the leading local grass roots trail authority in Western Iowa and Eastern Nebraska.

You guys must have some serious meetings to require to secretarys.

It's damned cool to see all the work that's gone into the trails there. Who would have thunk that Platte could hold so many trails that they'd have to have names?
