Trail Technique

Well folks, since riding off-road is a little tough (wet) right now I thought, let's get some info out there on trail building. The turnout for the Jewell trail days was awesome, but I've since read that some of the techniques we were using may be less than desireable. I got a copy of IMBA's Trail Solutions book for christmas. It's sweet bacon. If you want to learn about trail building, this book is a necessity.

We did a ton of bench work over those 3 weekends, primarily what's called a partial bench. We actually should be doing a full bench. IMBA's website has a great little write up on benching in trail.

There was also a lot of talk about how hard jewell was to ride. Here's IMBA's trail difficulty rating system. It even includes the all popular TTF's that have been put in at Manawa.
