Spy Photos from the Button Cam

You saw it here first last August with first pics of Gary Fishers new Race Day line of framesets. Well, we've all seen the catalog photos of the Supercaliber 29 but here's the real deal, insider spy photos from Waterloo. 80mm travel front and rear. notice the old school 600 Ultegra road der being used as a chain tensioner. Looks geared really low. Not sure if those are Bontrager swept back bars or not. Frames look ultra clean.

The top tubes are highly manipulated to minimize weight and increase stiffness at the seat cluster. Notice the small formed-in gusset below the downtube at the headtube weld as well. Shock mounts are very clean, they look to be forged instead machined.

Hydro-formed box section Downtube.

New Bontrager bars or Mary bars? Have to wait and see!

With the pivot placed inline with the chainline the drivetrain should pedal very well. The pivot yoke is one peice machined for perfect bearing alignment left to right.

From the source...

"This single is my first version...I will be working on plans to get this bike down to the 22lb. range without being a money pit. (frame weight on the 29" is very close to the frame weight of the 26", JHK's XL 26" race bike ~ 22.5lbs!)"

"bars are a concept I had made about 4 years ago..."

So there's the answer, yes, they are a bontrager proto's. If you want them, make your voice heard. If you demand, they will create!
