Dirt Extravaganza

It must be spring/summer. F1, Bacon ride and the Giro!

The day really kicked off last night, hooked up with CCB and T-Bone for the SX finale from Sin City. Morning came early, had to watch the live coverage of the GP of Europe, stinkin' Ferrari are back to their winning ways. Anyway, onto the good stuff

17 folks showed up for the 2nd season of the Bacon ride. I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true but I think Wierdman was the first one in the parking lot this morning. I know, I know, I didn't want to believe it either.

KW, PC and Schlake all made it out for their first rides. Good seeing all you Lincoln fella's, maybe we'll see ya for the Monkey Wrench ride Tuesday.

I'm officailly a member of a minority. There were more 29r's than 26r's.

The trail was, how shall we say, SWEET BACON! Super tacky, super fast, super fun.

Good crashes today too, I ate it in roller coaster, Tyler ate in the rock garden, T-Bone blewout the right hander after the rock garden, and Woodman aced it on 001. Too much speed, not enough talent this early in year, took me a good lap to find my flow. I always think I'm in relatively good shape until I ride Plizatte. T-Bone and I both agree, more time at L&C, less time at Swanson/Manawa...

Around the Bend doesn't open 'til 3 on Sunday's, oops, sorry guys. No bacon 'til the lodge opens Memorial Day weekend. All that was left to do was drive home, take a nap, and watch the GIRO.

Good Stuff!

Sorry no pics, my 'puter died last night (insert taps here)

Amen!! Can you say Super Tacky. I don't know if I've ever been able to corner that hard. Good ride today, should be fun next weekend also.

keep the faith Mod,

26ers are gonna come back in style.

after a few years, all those big wheeled bike riders will be hailing the benifits of 26inch wheels...

they just have to become un-popular first..

Little Peter, Mikey Road Bike Munson and I rode L & C on Sunday evening. It was the best I can remember it. Maybe we should get that debate going again on which is better between Platte and L&C? Or was that Caves? Of the three only L&C is horse free. Thats worth a big something right there!

you've got a point there shim. no horses on trails = purdy good riding.

but i still love platte. it was good to have so many peeps sunday to enjoy the fruits of our saturday labor.

it's gonna' be a fun race saturday. there are quite a few guys chomping at the bit to bring some serious pain. it'll be interesting to see who holds up...

cheers,
