Forced time off the bike

Learned not to show off when I don't have the skills to back it up. Tried getting some big air at Swanson for some onlookers and promptly did a face plant into the ground. Helmet has 8 cracks and did it's job well. Bone chip in the right middle finger and three breaks on the left clavical. Thanks to Jason for straigtening the dislocated finger and fixing a sling out of the spare innertube. The doctors and nurses thought the tube sling was pretty cool. Mark for driving me and the van to the hospital, Anne for taking Leah, and Troy and Greg were also there as witnesses. I see the doc this Thursday for xrays to see how it's mending. Doug gave me the headsup on getting the figure 8 harness since he has lots of experience with this break. No bones were set, just resting and taking tylenol 3.

sorry to hear about your fall dale. i hope you bounce back, and are back in the saddle soon.

to be able to feel the freedom of flying, you always risk failure, and even the best fail at it regularly.

don't let this setback stop you from trying to fly.

Thanks for the kind words you all. My wife says I need to take training on how to jump so I interpreted that as great, she wants me to get a bmx or jump bike. Later discussion cleared up my misunderstanding. 8-( So today I read an ad for a week of training at whistler! That's probably not in the cards as well. Bottomline, I'm thankful to have a wife that wants to keep me on my bike!

I've been reading BobkeII, he has an alphabet on cycling, under x he says: X is for x-ray. If you have been bikin' and haven't had an x-ray yet, you ain't going hard enough.

I don't wish this on anybody but it does seem to often come with the lifestyle.
