13 hours to pain...

In 13 hours it starts. There's a decent Nebraska showing at the Firecracker 50 in Breckenridge, CO. Roxzanne, Jason Kingsbury, Tim Wieland, Jeff Bonsall, Larry Kintner, and myself are ready to race tomorrow.

Spun this morning, eating all day, drinking water all day (staying away from the alcohol for a few days now.) Cuz the race starts at 9600 and goes up to over 11k feet. Seems that the rain is followin Rox and I this year. It rained for 3+ hours this afternoon, and on Sunday, and forecast is for scattered showers tomorrow. So I'm carryin a rain jacket and just soaked my rear triangle with PAM. After the race, its free beer time. Then more beer. And then ice cream. And mexican food. and more beer. And I'm double-dosing the claritin-d, since its got dem tour-proven performance enhancing effects :-)

Maybe since we're outta town the race at Manawa will be dry....

Just got back from Colorado yesterday ... what a great time in Breckenridge! I only did the "Half Firecracker" (did one 25 lap rather than 2), and it was great experience. Definitely plan on making this an annual trip, and doing the full race next year. Who's in?

Here are a few pictures from the day:
