Ain't no 155 but...

You gotta start somewhere right? Annie and I are pretty bummed we missed the Ponca trip, but we'd been wanting to do a triple trail tour for about a month. So today we finally went for it. Rolled out the door and headed for the riverside, L&C, Manawa triple. Ended up with about 45 miles or so, just shy of 15 miles of singletrack. I'd like to find a route with more gravel and less pavement. Stopped by Sam's after the ride, picked up a couple 32oz. and we're done. Time for burgers on the grill and a bit of the high life.

This fall we'll have to put together a ride that hits all 7 metro trails. Swanson, Jewell, Manawa, Wabash, L&C, Riverside and Tranquility. Anyone feeling it?

Make it a super epic and add Platte to that list. Gravel > Platte > Gravel > Swanson > Jewell > Manawa > L&C > Tranquility!

i'm in. that would be a fun loop as a metro loop or bigger down to platte or just the nebraski area.

you know its epic if mw is interested. it would be a long day, but it could definately be done even with the addition of platte. gravel to and loop at platte might have to be in the early morning darkness though! yeah, yeah!

I mapped it out on google. Without Platte it's an easy century. Figure in the the singletrack grind at some of the trails and ouch... Easy escape routes if you bonk though. If we start at Platte, make it a bit easier for the Lincoln kids it'll put us in that 130+ mile range.

I'll work more on the route. Would be a cool mix of singletrack, country gravel and urban.

thats what i was thinking. get cabins at platte, or just leave from platte early in the morning, and end at platte saturday night. being so close to the metro offers easy bail-out at any point. easy access to convienence shops makes it really easy to stay fueled too. not sure if we would have enough light in the day, but doing this ride in the fall would be really fun....

I'm in !!! I'll even dig my Mt. bike out for this.
Maybe we should pre-ride it Mod ?
Last year I did L&C, Riverside, Manawa, and Swanson. Boy that day hurt, but it sounds more fun with a group of friends.

I was hoping you'd speak up Jim. I like to map out some good gravel backroads through the loess hills.

Now, as for the Platte part. Might be a bit much. To go, Platte, Swanson, Jewell, Mineola, Manawa, Riverside, L&C, Riverside, Urban, Platte, is 130 miles without counting the singletrack. Then when you figure that we'll be hitting L&C at about the 80 mile mark...

I'd rather do some killer gravel in the loess hills than try to work in Platte. Yun Tu?
