The bad guys already carry guns, but when the good guys get the government's permission to carry (or not), some people get concerned. Why do you trust BGs more than GGs?
Guns are just tools. The most important tool is one's brain. Be observant and thoughtful about your environment and most likely you will never need to use a gun. (Sorta like a fire extinguisher, you never hope to use it but it is sure nice to have if you need it.)
But rarely you may find yourself in a bad situation. Having a gun available gives one the option of using it. You must access the situation and determine if it is necessary to use it. You who choose not to carry certain tools must then leave yourselves at the mercy of the BG who has already demonstrated little regard for your life by threatening you with physical harm or death.
In the jungle called civilization, there are sheep and there are predators. Some sheep choose to learn how to use tools, and when, to protect themselves and their loved ones.
I am very glad that Omaha lets us carry guns. In a LONG six years I will get the permit. If someome threatens to rape me or something like that, I'm going to be able to protect myself. I won't be one of those girls who ends up in some park butchered because I'm too ignorant to protect myself.

I enjoy guns, but I think this is asinine.
