Manitou 29'r ???

Practically unnoticed except by me was this very proto Manitou Minute 29'r fork. Looks like my former employer will finally step up to the plate and make the fork people are asking for.

Here's some extra notes on this fork for all the questions from MTBR. Being an ex-Manitou R&D guy this is the direction the product is going. For 2007, Manitou is reverting back to the TPC design and away from SPV on select models. SPV is a licensed feature and I'm sure Manitou is eager to go back to something they own. Something I helped develop and am very passionate about. TPC is very tuneable and in my mind, significantly better than SPV. What you see in the photo is, like I said, I VERY proto fork. The travel is no more than a 100m (look at the wipe lines on the stanchions). The ride hieght however is very tall. This fork is no doubt a one off proto more than likely using a Genisis 2.0 offset crown.

goldie: you wouldn't have clearance in the arch for a 29-inch wheel if it was built for a 26er...

the era of big wheel long travel is neigh my friends. sweet!
