DHC

I just wanted to say thank you to all those skeptics (you know who you are. *cough* *cough* *mod* *cough*) who told me repeatedly that I was crazy, out of my mind, etc. You all believed I was jumping in over my head, that I should master the bikes I already had before throwing myself down a mountain... you were right. But it was so worth it! Thanks to all the guys on the trip for lending a hand and getting me 'acclimated' on the hardest course first, really appreciated that one. In all honesty though, thanks for the advice and continuous support. And thanks to you all at the shop for loading me up with armor before I left, it paid for itself over and over and over again. First day I got tossed around, a lot... an estimated 10 or 12 hard crashes set me up for seriously sore muscles on the 2nd day. Lost my derailleur on the 3rd day, but rode anyway. Limited mountain time had to be put to good use. Turned out to be a productive day, made it over some stuff I'd ate it on in previous runs or outright walked. I had a clean final race with a chain!! (Thanks to Nate), was able to ride over everything and came in 5th. Best of all, no broken bones :)

really looks like I know what I'm doing, huh? So decieving :)

Hey, I came around by the time you guys were gettin' ready to leave. Someone had to be the voice of reason. I knew you'd kick ass.

Now grab the King Fisher and come out for some autumn log ride sessions.

That last photo is sweet, sa-weeeeeet. So I had to enlarge it.

By the way, WHERE ARE MY GOOGLES!

Man, downhilling is the best,
it's not for everyone,

you gotta have the skills,
and jedi like reflexes.

looks like you did just fine. Isn't it the best, 40+ in body armor bouncin off shit,

gettin to the bottom and trying to get the smile off your face so you can get the dirt outa your teeth.

and rubbin your forarms all the way back up to the top cuz the only part of your body that hurts is that from grabbing the brakes all the way down...

is that a pick of the rock garden at keystone?

I don't know that I have the Jedi like reflexes, but I sure look like something from Star Wars. And yes, that is the rock garden at Keystone. Glad to say I never crashed in it!... crashed plenty of other places, but I imagine that would've hurt quite a bit.
