Lighten up the two-nine

from Reynolds composites...

I also wanted to give a bit of an introduction to a product some may have saw at Interbike but now we are ready to really get the word and announce our 29er wheel. Yes, you read that right we are now offering a carbon clincher 29er wheel built up with DT Swiss 240S Disc Hubs. These are laced front and rear with 28 spokes and come in at 1650 grams…How about that!?!?

OH SNAP! That's 2-6 wheel weight!

With dtwiss 32h 4.1d rims, alloy nips, disc 240s, and dt revo spokes laced 3x you can build up a 26"er wheelset to right around 1550g. And you told me you'd fatigue those spokes in under a month.
So lets add 1.5" to each spoke, and reduce spoke count, make sure its a disc specific wheel so that we get to transfer all the braking force through those longer, fewer spokes-- how you ever gonna trust that?
Oh, and since those rims are bigger, you're gonna have to put about 175-225g more rubber on each wheel too.
