It's goin' down

Big ole group at Manawa last night for the TNR. Dale and crew made it out again. Family Man John came out for his first autumn ride. Gary came again. 13 or so in all. Kevin took a digger on his cross bike and then I flatted on mine. Gotta thank RA for having a spare tube, even though it had a hole in it. So I have to give an even bigger thanks to Hardcore for having a patch kit. It wasn't exactly an F1 quality pit stop but we got it patched and back on the trail for another lap. Tim was riding his new Bianchi Rita two-nine SS. Things got a sweet candy apple red looking paint job, white panels with rainbow stripes. Schweeeeet. Leaves are getting nice and broken down so the grip levels are coming back up. The rain can only help. And what's up with this weather shift? 20 degree drop in 12 hours, with rain and a nasty north wind.

So yeah, this weekend.

Psycowpath Banquet is Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed that it stops raining soon.

If you want 'cross, vet-cross in KC is this weekend. These guys put on really good races. I've done Sundays race before. It's at a high school so they have showers and everything. pretty nice to get cleaned up after a wet race.

In more CX news, the Lincoln weekend is only a week away. JLjr is putting together a top end weekend of racing. Worthy of checking out even if you're not racing. Big hospitality tent, food coffee and beer. I got a ton of positive feedback on the Swanson weekend race course and I'll be heading to Lincoln on Sunday to work with John on the Lincoln course, stay tuned.

Then...the following weekend is Jingle Cross in Iowa City. Chris Horner, Davitamon Lotto rider and grand tour stage winner will be there. Discovery team rider Jason McCartney and regional cycling god and TREK/VW Midwest rider Steve Tilford are also on the docket. I'm sure some heavy hitters will be coming from all around to race for tons of cash. I think Kevin and I might be rolling up for Sundays racing.
