Sand and Pavement

Did another 20 miles under cloudy upper 40's. Found a couple beaches I was able to ride along the shoreline. The packed sand has similar riding characteristics to snow except more speed is better for turning than less.

Stopped for coffee and ran across a couple commuters on cruisers, Jeff and Dana. Jeff runs a pizza joint called Marco's. He also set up a Slovakian java shop employee with a bike. Hope to make it out there before heading home.

Unfortunately, it has been awful. Family drove down (1200 miles in 21 hours)for hospitalization of Danna's brother David and he ended up dieing. Health issues but he was only 52. Funeral was Friday.

A lot of different emotions being felt by the family - numbness, denial, anger, sadness, etc. Fortunately, we do have the hope of seeing him with Jesus on the other side of death.

Thanks, Josh, we appreciate that. We took Sunday and Monday to get home.
