Warm weather at last! Annie and I got out for some road action yesterday and I got out again today. Man it feels good. February was way too looooooong.Shim (aka, Elbows McFayden), Deal, Kev and RA made the trip to Clinton yesterday. Anyone else go?
How about a race report Elbows?
Next weekend is the 3/6. Wish I could go but it's just not in the cards.
Well, gravel looks to be in good shape...
Wabash is definitely not...
CB paved loop is pretty good, but there's some slimey mud under the bridges...
Bellevue Blvd is mostly dry, dry enough to not worry about it...
Time to make up for lost time!

Steve learned a valuable few lessons.
1) Don't mess with my sprint.
2) When it comes to sprinting I own the line, you cross it you get hurt.
3) Speed Kills!

Thanks dude, I haven't laughed that hard in a couple weeks.
Thanks for the help with the suspension on Saturday MOD. The bike worked great, I think the teralogics fork works great, bike is fast on the flats and climbs awesome. Suspension took everything I threw at it. Trek gets a thumbs up from me, by far the best XC bike I've ever rode. Started off easy to get the feel of the bike, and was a bit skeptical of riding a brand new bike in that type of terrain, even more so after talking with Deal on the way down about some of his races there. Wasn't really sure what place I was in until I passed 2 guys on the grass hill climb on lap 3 and asked them what place they were in. After they told me I had just took over 4th place and Shim and Deal were 2 of the 3 in front of me all I could think of was trying to reel in Shim, not knowing he was leading or in 2nd. I just wanted to see his face and here the excuses of why I was able to catch him. I know they were probably out of reach at that point but was good motivation to try and pick up the pace. Ended up flatting half way through the 4th lap with 10-15 minutes to go, after getting the new tube in I realized I had no pump. After someone dropped a pump I ending up screwing up that tube and walking out. After hearing about all the elbows at the end maybe I was better off flatting. Glad to see that Shim and Deal got 1st and 2nd, and glad I do some training rides with guys like them, Kent and some of you other fast riders out there, it really helps and someday I might be able to hear some of those excuses.
Shim, thanks for the motivation and advice you have given me. Not many guys your age(or any) can bring the best efforts out of me like you.
RA, great job on the rigid single speed, looked like you had a great race going as you went by ahead of most of the expert guys
Deal, try a stiff arm next time.
Nice race Kev, I hadn't heard how you did. Pretty sweet considering it's your first expert race. I hope I can keep up!
Wow. Shim is good on a regional level. I did not know that. Just kidding- I know he's a shark on the bike. Good job Kevin and whoever else was there.
Shim, let's go out and get some road rides in.
oh anne, you look so happy....
