I went out Tuesday afternoon in the rain to see how much water was running down the tread at Tranquility. Top pic is where the singletrack going west uphill turns onto doubletrack. Before this diversion was put in a month ago, much of this water was going down the singletrack.
The second pic shows one of four I put in today downhill of the doubletrack. I think much of the water from the top pic was eventually draining onto the singletrack farther down. I also put in four or more diversions farther up the hill today. While raining, the ground is easy to dig and you can test the diversion in real time.
Not enough grade reversals were put into the layout to shed the water off the trail, especially as the tread turns into a quarterpipe shape. Now these small waterbar like diversions need to be put in and maintained.
I thought my jacket was waterproof, but after two hours in the rain, I was soaked. Then my serpentine belt came off my van and it over heated just as I was getting home. Hopefully, I didn't crack the cylinderhead.
Thankfully, Doug took over three hours on Monday to mow much of the trail before riding.

Thanks for getting wet and keeping an eye on trail maintenance and water control. We had 2.5 inches at the house yesterday so again thanks.
well it looks like your hard work is going to pay off... nice work.
nice work dale and doug. 3 hours of mowing, eh? how light is Doug's mower?
I know a guy that could hook him up with a sweet carbon throttle mech and a sharp ti blade. let me know.
hope your van is okay.
Does your guy's mower have an aluminum engine too? How about a carbon fiber deck cover?
