I echo others in thanking the local and distant mountain bike communities for racing and cheering in the record cold/windy weather! All the prep and hard work would have been for nought if you all didn't make the hard decision to race Saturday. It was 18 degrees (4 wind chill) during setup. For those behind the wind break, I think we got above freezing in the afternoon. I totaled up the hours in course prep, marking, and race day logistics and it came out to 101 hrs! Here are the people behind the scene that made it happen!

I thought the 07 race went 100% better than 06 from a logistics perspective. Danna says a-gazillion times better! Beside sticking more closely to the excellent host club guide, the help was superb this year! These are my memories and I'm sure there are holes, so please reply all with those I forgot to list:
Before the race, there is the Psycowpath Committee: Ryan, Roxy, Tim E., Donna, Tim W., and Doug. Psycowpath would not exist were it not for the 100's of hours put in by these volunteers.
Big thanks for Doug putting in over 10 hours mowing and course marking during the week and race day! Greg and Todd asked to help but Doug finished before they could get out to help!
Ryan and Dale moved picnic tables Th.
Setup: Doug, Tim W, Dan C, Robert, Josh, Rod C., Todd, Greg, Ryan [getting backup generator], Roxy. Big thanks to Robert who brought out his side tarps for the tents. Without there tent tarps, very few would have hung around eating and talking.
Announcer: Professional speaker Ryan.
Registration: Danna, Crystal, Tim W., Tim E.
T-shirts, question answering, race director reminderer: Roxy
Course Marshalls: Chris, Dan C.
Time Keepers and spotters: Doug, Rod G., Tim W., Spence, Caleb, Dale. These, along with Ryan, get the "Die-Hard Award" for standing in the wind for hours and recording all the racers that went by!
Kids race: Doug [after reconfiguring course for second race], Leah
Awards: Doug, Tim W., Dale
Food: Hannah
Teardown/cleanup: Doug, Tim W., Dan C., Rod C, Greg, Robert, Josh, Aaron, Roxy, Ryan, Danna, Hannah, Leah, Donna, Tim W2, Tim W2's dad
I added up hours for each task and the number of people involved and came up with 101 hours for course prep and race day! That doesn't include race director and PC prerace planning and organization.
I think the record cold, windy, but sunny weather heightened the experience for racers and those who cheered them on! The volunteers, finish/parking location, clockwise course direction with a north wind; and of course, the great turnout by local and distant mountain bike communities, made the 2007 Tranquility Tire Tantrum a great event! Though I couldn't make it, I heard great things and thanks to Josh and Khamiel for the post race feed!
Thanks again to our sponsors: Bike Masters Cycling and Fitness, Nebraska Lottery, Thompson Chiropractic and Wellness Center, and Red Bull for podiums and arch.
First 2007 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath race down, seven more to go!
great job dale and ALL!!!
had a great time despite or because of the weather...i came naked...under my clothes!!!
good food...great setup, good access...course was topnotch...perfect in reverse!
KUDOS, baby, KUDOS!!!
Thanks to everyone who put their work and bodyheat (to keep them at a functioning temperature) into making this such a great event. I think, I speak for MANY folks when I say that I L O V E D the track backwards and it should become the official direction....
Thanks guys for everything!
Thanks guys, super fun race, great course clockwise.
For a beginner MTB racer (ok, so I've raced a bit on the road), the race was extremely well-run. Thanks for the superlative event.
Thankyou guys. that was a super fun event...
I was stoked on the clockwise loop. I'm looking forward to riding there again..
thankyou to all the volunteers and participants for making that one heck of a fun day
Ditta... This was my first MTB race and I had a blast. Thanks for all the hard work Dale, Ryan, Roxy, Tim E., Donna, Tim W., Doug, and everyone else that helped.
One memorable moment during the race: Climbing the last hill I noticed somebodies chain laying in the middle of the path right before the crest of the last major climb. That had to have slowed somebody down a bit. I actually laughed, and then regreted it because I was sucking wind so bad at that point.
I heard that guy that lost the chain threw his bike down the hill!
Thanks to all that helped put on the great event. Bravo!
