L&C Problem and Solution

About 4' of bank collapsed from the big rain a couple weeks ago. Its about an 8' verticle drop and then another 15 or 20 at a steep angle. Dan and I put in about a 100 foot reroute to provide lots of room.

We also repacked the big log ramp. The trail is good shape. The washout along the bottom of the chutes is fine as is. It washed out above and deposited about a foot of soil on the trail.

Todd and Dan are calling for a trailwork day next Tuesday, May 22. Ideally, we need 4 weedeaters, one pair from the start going forward, the other pair going backwards. Also two more people with loppers, one following each pair, trimming the above grown growth. If you can help, please rsvp at ourthor[at]yahoo[dot]com. Please mention what time you can start and tools you can bring.

I'll be there at 5:00 with a whacker and a few shovels just in case. I'll help work from 5:00-6:30, but then I plan to ride at least untill dark. I just payed $3.47 a gallon for gas in Springfeild on the way to the campground last night. With gas prices like that I need to get some practice laps in while I'm there before the race.

I rode he Mopec trail into work this morning, if you haven't rode it give it a try. I got on at the river and rode it back to HWY370.
It stops short of 370 by about a mile and a half. Looks like they plan on finishing it off beacuase to trail is cut but it's just dirt.
It also looks like they have working on the whole thing, the bad rains did wash out some spots but it was a blast on the cross bike. I plan on trying to get a ride planned soon to get some people out on it.

Gotta work tuesday night guys but I have Wednesday off. Let me know what doesn't get done on Tuesday and I can go out with my pruners and hula hoe.
