With no downpour in sight on the radar, looks like we can do some trailwork this afternoon!
We have 6 weed eaters that I know for tonight:
Blaine, Greg, Dave, and I will start at 3:30. Two forward and two backward.
Kevin and Shane will start at 5. I suggest you two go down Neverrest and to the right at the bottom instead of left. That will drop you on the main trail at about the 3 mile distance. (see the THOR map on L&C) That will roughly split the trail into thirds.
I think Tim and Dan will be there at 5 with loppers. Each take a direction.
Bring:
- Deep Woods OFF or other bug spray - the mosquitos are ravenous, tics are present. I will leave some on my van back bumper if you don't have any (and if no one takes it).
- long pants
- eye protection
- ear protection (weed eaters)
- gloves
- hat
- camelbak (water)
- a gatoraid or psycowpath water bottle with extra fuel
How wide to trim?
Suggest trail corridor average 5' wide - i.e. weeds trimmed back 30" from center of trail.
Thanks to everyone helping.
Todd, Dan, Dale

Big thanks to everyone who came out Tuesday! I believe the entire trail was wacked out! Don started Monday and Dave, Martin, Shane, Kevin, Josh, Larry, Todd, and I all were weedeating Tuesday. I think Blaine was weeding as well. Tom, Dan, and Tim were lopping.
Kevin and Josh were riding after the work to check the entire course. Can one of you post here what you found and list anything else that needs to be done?
Please email date, hours, and type of work to ourthor[at]yahoo[dot]com so Todd can record. Include your travel time to and from L&C in the total.
Well today my arms are a little sore. I saw quite a few people out at L&C helping. I've never had so many bug bites... Trail is looking pretty good.
It needs bug killer!!! At one point I had 10 mosquitoes sitting on each shoulder. They were trying to eat me alive....
I did also some lopping. The trail looked like the Autobahn thanks to all you "wacky" people:)
Hey all,
I'm no regular here -- or on the dirt, either -- but I need to say thanks for your work. I'm a roadie who got on the trails at Tranquility for the first time (on a bike -- I've run them before) on Sunday. I took advantage of the Bike Masters demo, and I'm glad I did.
It was awesome. The trail was excellent. Challenging, but rideable even for me.
So, again, thanks.
