The champs have been crowned. It was a pretty sweet day for racing bikes and hangin' with friends. Turnout seemed a little small which was too bad because the trail couldn't have been any better. I'll wait for Neb-Cycling to get the results up. Let's just say the reverse direction seemed to level the playing field a bit. The question that begs to be asked is, when will Grady put some real tires on his bike? I've never heard of soooo many flats in one season. It also seemed like there were a fair amount of close encounters of the tree kind. Plenty of shoulder wraps were seen around the podium. I had a blast, hope everyone else did too. nice ridin' saturday mod!!

Thanks for the pictures. They came out great even in the low light shots. You picked a good spot for getting the pictures from two areas without much running around.
Seeing Mod push his bike up that climb made me feel so much better about having to do the same on my SS. ;-)
And nice seeing you again MG.
yup, that race was a blast. I never would have guessed swanson would be easier backwards but to me it was. I didn't miss the grind to and thru tetnus hill.
well organized and well run event. Thanks to the crews that put their time into getting the course race ready.
Just wish the season was longer...atleast cross starts soon!
right on bob. i'm stoked that you've found mountain bike racing. congratulations on winning the series this year in your class too! that's a pretty major accomplishment, and i'm looking forward to racing with you in the expert class next season.
i'm still amazed that it's been almost seventeen years since we were cross country teammates in kearney!! time flies when you're having fun, as they say...
cheers,
mg
Hey Bob Jeff Bergen here. Congrats on the win Saturday, you were definately the better man & deserved it. I had nothing for ya! Congrats on the series win as well.
You race 'cross to? Great. You can kick my a$$ in that to I guess. I've never done it before, but I got this 25lb cross machine that I'm just dying to race on.
Hey Jeff, Thanks for the props. I was just lucky to get the scooter engine installed on my bike the day before the race... pretty handy. ;-)
I have not raced cross yet. Maybe someday.
bob, as awesome of a runner as you are, 'cross would be right up your alley.
you seriously should check it out. heck, race 'em on your mountain bike. that's what i did for years. it wasn't until recently that i've started being able to have dedicated cyclocross equipment, and the fact is that you can do just about as well on a mountain bike.
i'll probably regret recommending that you try 'cross in a couple of seasons when you're kicking my butt... ;-}
cheers,
mg
