This month marks five years since the death of fellow mountain biker and founder of THOR, Tony Naikelis. In celebration of his passion for the bike and the trail, a memorial ride/BBQ is scheduled for this Sunday, August 26th. Come out for a chill ride and some eats afterward. Bring a friend, cuz that's what Tony would want.Here are the details:
Ride from Lake Manawa to Lewis and Clark Monument in Council Bluffs via paved trails, "chill" at the bench, and then head back to Manawa to share memories and food. It's BYOB and BYOF. We will have a grill going. Bring some extra to share.
12:45 Meet at Lake Manawa trailhead parking lot
1:15 Roll out, heading east, then north using paved trails 2:00 Arrive at L&C. Meet at the flagpole.
2:30 Meet at Tony's Bench
3-3:15 Roll back to Manawa
4:00 Arrive back at Manawa for a cookout at Area 2

Dang-it, looks like I have to miss the ride. Charlie and I will be in Colorado Downhilling and Camping. Hope everyone has a great time. Tony was a great guy and a good friend. I sure do miss him:(
right on. i'm there. i miss our friend tony, but i know his spirit is still with us.
i can still hear his maniacal laugh in my mind... tony was one of a kind.
