Worked with Martin and CC flagging/taping interior of Swanson today. It was our opinion that there are too many wet spots and slime for riding there today. Please don't tear up the tread by riding there. Hopefully, there won't be more rain at Swanson before the race on Saturday.
Stopped at Tranquility on the way home. Surprised that it is rideable, though there are about four slime/wet spots in the technical section on the north side of the creek. Barring any more rain today, I offer it as an alternative to a paved/cement/gravel TNR.
Either way, enjoy the ride!

Is it true that the race Saturday will run the course backwards?
Any idea what the lap counts will be for beginners - Clydesdales specifically?
Looking forward to this one!
Thanks
Jon Downey
yes backwards.
2 laps for beginners, I think. see nebraskacyclingnews.com
Nebraskacyclingnews.com article says 2 laps for Beginners. That could change race day but probably won't. And it will be run "backwards" or clockwise. Direction signs are already posted so hopefully everyone is riding out there the "right" way.
Regardless of directional signs, we should watch for those who are directionally challenged.
Thanks Dale for the post and help today.
VeloCC and I just got back from removing a fallen oak tree in the back yard area. It is still saturated and it was even sprinkling just a tad.
Barring anymore rain I would say the earliest anyone could ride is early afternoon to early evening tomorrow.
Ya ride tonight bring a puddy knife or a spoon to dig the mud out of your chainstays and fork brace, a trail stick won't be good enough. Also, when you dig the mud out please put it back exactly where you found it.
Duh, if I would actually read the post on NebCycling I might learn something! Sorry.
Backwards sounds challenging.
is it raining up there right now? the radar doesn't look good (at 7:39pm thursday night).
it's freaking raining....
Heavey and steady for the past 2 1/2 hours. Lots of thunder and lighting to boot, It Sucks!
yup... it's doing the same stuff down here. this is bummin' me out. my bike's in the stand a room away all shiny and ready to go.
poop...
i see blue sky now 8:42am Friday. C'mon folks! Think sun and **GASP** seventy degree temps!
I am with you on the temperature but that "sun" thing you are talking about...what is that???
perhaps wishful thinking...
Ah...the suspense!
