I know this is news, and I understand why it's getting so much run, but is anybody else as sick of this crap as me?

I am convinced most of the peleton is on something, and this entire generation of racers needs to "cycle through" the system so we can move on to cleaner racers.

The current crop of racers have been doing this their whole lives, & they don't know any other way & that's why so many are being caught.

I say good riddance to all of them, let's move on.

Unfortunately I have a friend who raced mtn bikes in Europe (amateur) for the last 2 years, and he tells me it's even more rampant in the amature ranks than pro, because they test very little, if ever. So this isn't going away anytime soon. Jeff

Who really cares? This blog is about MTB not doping roadies thus the name "MTB Omaha".

Who cares? I think we should all care, this is one more sort of "black eye" for the cycling community. Kinda like the whole home run race in baseball...I turned baseball off because of that.

How many young, future cyclists are being affected by this, it hard to say.

In my opinion if I have to dope to keep up with the boys, then riding my bike isn't as fun as it used to be. I should rethink why I put on the riding shoes and swing a leg over a bike.

Am I sick of it, just like Haro YES I AM sick of it!! I don't think we will be able to cycle thru it to "clean racers." there is more but I'm tired of the soapbox.

So many people that I talk to get on their bike because its fun and gives them a sense of freedom. Go enjoy your freedom!

The problem is the depraved state of mankind, not cycling, baseball, football, nascar, etc.

Games have rules and some/many people reason that the glory (and money) of obtaining a goal justifies the means. They lack integrity, honesty, fairness, etc. Their reasoning is flawed and they will give an account for their actions.

Blueif, this is not a black eye for the whole cycling community. Black eye for pro racing maybe.

I don't think anyone stopped playing softball or little league baseball because of doping. They still play because its fun to them like cycling is fun to me at local competitions and for recreation.

Again, what the doped up pros do has no effect on my "fun and freedom" as you stated.

I guess I was thinking more about the pros not creating good role models for the younger cyclist.

Well said Dale, we need a cultral change away from the something for nothing society that we now exist in.

Pro cycling may be dirty, and it sucks that it's the only sport that get's raked in the media, but it's still cleaner than ALL THE DOPERS IN PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL AND FOOTBALL.

Tom has it right as well, kids should have roll models like a parent or family friend that races, not some pro a continent away. The real racing happens at the local level, and we are lucky enough to have some of the best local/regional events and athletes in the country, if not the world.
