Last call for mountain bike racing

The weekend is almost here and that means it's time for the final event of the Nebraska mountain bike calendar. THOR members took to the trails last night at Lake Manawa in preparation for the 1st annual MetrO! Mountain Bike Challenge 12 Hours of Lake Manawa presented by the Midwest Cycling Community. The trails are in excellent condition and ready for 12 hours of fun with friends and family.

Mother Nature has agreed to provide perfect temps for a day of cycling. Bring some arm warmers or a long sleeve jersey, it might be a bit chilly with lows forecasted in the 40's. And it's yet to freeze so bring your bug spray. Skeeters will be in full air assault mode from the 6 o'clock hour on.

Oh yeah, plug your lights in, sunsets at 7:33 PM

With that said, Monday will mark the official start to the cyclocross season. So dust off the skinny knobbies and work on your dismounts. Did you know the national championship is in Kansas City this year? Well it is, and you should go, but bring a cow bell or you'll feel left out!
