CX Opener

The Nebraska cyclocross season kicked off with a bang this weekend. The boys from River City Velo once again hosted the event and did a fine job. The week long rain left the some sections a bit sluggish but overall condition were great. Day one saw 65 riders toe the line. Brad Sullivan walked away with the A/B's win. Day two saw slightly fewer riders but the racing was great to watch. Not sure how all the categories turned out but Mark Studnicki won the A/B's race, Janna won the women's open, Tom Price won the Master's, and I think race promoter Randy Christ won the C's. Check NebCycling for complete results.

From my vantage point the A/B race looked like a good one. Studnicki, Sullivan and Tony Wilhelm were locked in quite a dual while Troy Krause and Darin Schlake chased at each their own tempo. Further back Ryan Legg, Kevin Burke and myself fought it out for the final pay positions. Sydney Brown stepped out of the women's race and into the men's field for some hard earned training, no doubt looking ahead to Nationals in KC.

Next stop, Lincoln, November 17/18. Watch for holligan shinanigans in full effect. 'Til then, plenty-o-racing in KC and DM regions.

Annie got more sweet Photos. Tom and others will have more as well. Maybe T-bone will actually post something!
