TNR memories

Nine friends had a great time at L&C on Thursday night.  Rox, A-Grade and myself each got 3 laps, others got two in.  Trail conditions are near perfect with a splash of leaves and good color all around.  The leaves can throw ya a little bit and they claimed at least one victim in a fast corner.  JW flew around the course twice pushing a 34x18 on his 29er Waltworks-- mashed potatoes man!  Much thanks to Dale, that man carries everything but the kitchen sink on a ride, but its got a purpose.  There was a big tree (8" dia?) down across the trail, requiring dismount.  He busted out a handsaw and took care of it right there.   Rumor also has it that on his Fri night ride he stopped at L&C again, built a shelter, and killed & cooked a squirrel to fuel his ride home.  With the wheel removed, he can use his front steel fork as a kabob.  He Left No Trace of his activities Fri night.

Thanks Dale for your constant, fine example of self-sufficiency and trail stewardship.

Thanks everyone else for keeping the TNR tradition alive!

Look forward to next weeks TNR, its gonna be at Tranquility for a last spin on some of the expansion/re-route, followed by a chili feed at Josh & Khamails place-- you don't wanna miss it!!

300g folding handsaw comes in handy on occassion, e.g. building a lean-to, and a fire to roast squirrels. But Ryan exagerates, I use the QR mounted in the front fork as a kabob, not the fork legs.

Thanks to Tim and Bob for taking turns sawing and moving the tree. That was a bigger job than I thought.
