It can't rain all the time.....

What would you say if I could guarantee sunshine and dry trails on Saturday, August 2nd?.... I'm guessing you'd make sure you left a good chunk of that day open for riding, and since you're so hard up for dry dirt these days, you'd probably try to ride at least three different trails. You might even go nuts and ride trails in Iowa and Nebraska...... Well, instead of doing it alone, come join a group of other area riders and raise money for a great cause. We call it the 3-2-1 Cycling Challenge. The plan is to meet at Swanson park in Bellevue at 7:30 am. We'll leave our fossil fuel burning transports there. VIP Limousine will drive us and our bikes to Dodge Park in Council Bluffs. From there we will ride to Lewis and Clark for a lap. Then we'll ride south to Manawa for a lap. The Last leg of the route will take us across the South Omaha bridge on our way back to Swanson. After a lap there, we'll refuel with a bar-b-q lunch provided by the Goatheads. All of this plus a t-shirt can be yours for only $25.
There's a lot of things we could do with the money, but there's only one thing we will do with it. All proceeds will go to help at-risk youths in Omaha and El Salvador. Rather than explain here why we decided to put together a benefit ride for the Omaha Street School and for a youth center in El Salvador, you can join us and ask a Goathead how this whole thing came about. All you need to know now is that you can download a registration form at 321cycling.com and that your participation will benefit two very worthy causes.
Now it's time for Q&A:
You: How far will we ride that day?
Me: Wow, you are a Nancy! Who's asking, you or your little sister? .... JK .... We think it's about 45 miles total with 18 on dirt, but that's just an educated guess.
You: Is it a race?
Me: I suppose you can turn anything into a race, but it's intended to be a group ride at a comfortable pace. With that said, I think I won last year....Suckers!
You: What if I have other questions that I can't think of now?
Me: Send all questions to jnshood@netzero.com

Later,
Lumpy
