PSYCOWPATH SCHEDULE CHANGES

The postponed Nebraska Lottery/Psycowpath races at Manawa and Lewis and Clark Monument have changed again.

The Manawa race will go back to it's original date of September 27th. It will be hosted by Velo Veloce.

The race at L&C is cancelled for 2008. Mainly the cancellation is due to the need to reroute the entrance, which has been slowed due to weather delays and a change-over in CB's parks and rec. department. Psycowpath felt in order for THOR to do it's job properly and without pressure, removing the race from the calendar was the best solution. We'll miss it but the hope is that it will be back bigger and better next year.

In the meantime, get ready for the next XC race at Ponca. It's been a marathon event the last few seasons. We suspect this year we're going to see a record turnout. With Jay and his SC Velo crew in charge, we have no doubts!

See you on the start line!

Thanks for the update Roxy. Seems like it has been forever since I've ridden on singletrack. I just pray it doesn't get rained out, again. I plan on sacrificing a live chicken to appease the thundergods.
Does anyone know how fast that place dries out? Any idea if a pre-ride is realistic this weekend or is that wishful thinking?

As of Sunday night, Steve Dickey said the park had closed the parking lot to the trailhead and removed the boat ramp. I would venture to say, that place is really wet considering the rains and possible river flooding.

Sounds like you were talking about Ponca. Word is that it's good to go. They will be prepping and riding Sunday.

sure wish ponca was still a marathon. much more interesting to me when it's done that way. xc is too short.

i know, i'm in the minority and i'm not putting the race together. i still feel the need to express my opinions tho.
