Tranquility start/finish area

The start/finish area is cleared and ready. The city leveled a big parking area next to it. The kids' race bypass has been cut in as well. The start will be stage down the doubletrack road about 150 yds before the singletrack. Finish is where the trail crosses the tree line.

The city is still hauling woodchips, etc. so watch for trucks and equipment when riding.

Picnic tables are available but you may want to bring a bag chair to watch the race. You can see different parts of the trail across the prairie. A pair of binoculars is needed to identify the riders.

You know it's just about race day, the forecast is calling for a chance of rain.

Standard procedure if weather is questionable. Decision will be made early Saturday and posted on NCN, mtbo and bmcc blogs.

Will Sunday be the make up? I know that they talked about making that a standard. Or will you shoot for the 23rd?

This Sunday is first makeup date. Will have to check with NCA for date after that.

Thanks, hope to see you out there tonight. My son Cole had a blast there Tuesday. Got him using his gears and he rode into the main trail about 2 miles and then did the kids loop twice. Had to practice the hill 5 times before switching to gear 1 and standing up. After he got up that he made the second hill, over the log and to the road with a grin on his face. On the way out I took him on the other side of the crick and he made it through except for the bigger log crossing.

That cool!

Maybe next year the kids' can choose either the beginner (current) kids' course or a longer expert course that includes the loop on the north side of the crick.
