Here is a link to the other side of the story (you have to scroll down):http://www.mkebikepolo.com/wordpress/I guess I could understand a ticket if they were trespassing in a "posted no trespassing" area and had been warned, but a $263 fine per person? And they were taken to jail?Sounds like their cops need a hobby. Maybe bike polo!
I would think the story was a joke if it weren't true-how could you possible damage a parking garage playing bike polo? Sounds like you're right-they need a hobby.
Its kind of funny (sad) how municipalities tend the frown on "alternative" uses of their (our) facilities. In Manhattan, KS the bike polo kids all got hosed when the city said that they could not use the basketball/tennis courts that were lit at night. A church let them play in the parking lot after that. Its very important that we "tighten the leash" when our elected officials get a bit too big for their britches.....that sounded awfully libertarian.
Anyone know of a parking garage we can play in on Sundays? Maybe UNO???
Bike Pole Player = Criminal?Well, duh. We've all seen you guys.
T-Bone = Criminal Element, come on, it's not a stretch.
T-Bone:There is a garage downtown, that would work.
What's the address? I'll go check it out.
