I'm Impressed . . .

I'm impressed, not so much with the sophisticated suspension system being used in the photo. But I am impressed with all the FAST lap times folks turned out on Saturday at Jewell. Take, for example, Jesse Holmes the fifteen-year old wunderkind of John and Donna. His lap time was--um, well--faster than mine! Must be in the genes. Then there is Lowell Peterson, the fifty-five year old elder-statesman of Nebraska mountain biking. His finishing time was very impressive. Way to go! Lowell you're an inspiration for young and old alike. And, then the Cat 1 dudes. How do y'all do it?

I was also delightfully pleased with the great turnout. Maybe we all went a bit crazy during the long brutal winter--and we came out of hibernation (winter training) with both guns blasting. Was it just me, or did I notice a lot folks who seemed to have miraculously shed pounds over the winter? It was good to see some new and old faces in the senior citizen class (also known as Cat 2 +45). Podium chances are looking kinda' tentative for me this year with the impressive line up of old fast dudes. Oh well . . .

Ryan and crew, thanks for putting on a top-flight event! Any chance we could do a short track at Jewell on a Sunday next year?

Was anyone else as impressed as I was with this event?

I got to figure out where that dude got that shopping cart. Now that's inspiring.

You'll notice the cart has curved seat stays for more comfort.

Thanks for the props! And thanks for coming out, all. R&R and crew were equally impressed.
