It was a paint scheme that matched the team kit. The first few years they rode Huffy branded Serotta's. Actually, it may have only been for one year. They switched to Merckx shortly after. And even then, I lot of the Motorola Merckx's were actually repainted Litespeeds. Ron Keifel and Davis Phinney are still pretty tight with Ben Serotta. They're always at his open houses.
Mine is a steel frame, with down tube shifters, I still want to make it into a single speed, who want to throw some old parts at it? I got a seat post, seat, bottom bracket, fork, need an old stem, bars, rear wheel. What else?

I have a frame just like that in my garage, except mine says "Eddy Merckx". What is th history behind the Team 7-11 frames? Anyone know?
