Went up to Ponca to watch the Marathon race and do a little riding. Trails were in great shape. Weather was a little cold. 104 Friday, 55 Saturday. Man, thats wierd.
Though cool just standing or sitting around, riding temps were just right. Good to see you there t-bone.
We did have a low turnout. I would appreciate anyone who didn't show up at Ponca (and those who did) to read the Ponca Post Mordem topic on the NCN Racing Posts forum.
These 4 hour events are new for us and we (Psycowpath Committee) welcome any advice on how to improve them. I listed a few thoughts, hopefully you all have a few ideas as well.
Dale, here are my thoughts, I originally had no intention of doing any "marathon events". Currently I have no intention of doing another one. I did them because there was nothing else going on. The weather was actually the reason I did Ponca, that and I really like the course. For me four hours is about 1 1/2 hours longer than my attention span, in both races I totally lost interest and didn't really care about racing anymore. I don't think anyone did anything wrong, it was a test you gave it a shot. Now you have to decide when to cut your losses and move on. Many of the people asking for the longer races didn't show up for Ponca and a lot of the people who would have preferred it was a xc event did.

that first shot looks awesome!
You have anymore pics from Ponca. Such as rider 1004?
Thanks!
Sorry Jeff, I arrived late and only took a few pictures before I went for a ride.
