Trails

With the warm weather early this week maybe it can dry up by Thursday or Friday.
Could some of you who live close to the trails check them out on Wednesday or Thursday?
Maybe we could meet at Ameristar on Thursday and ride out to L&C to check it out, we could always ride the trail back towards Manawa and check it also.

Kev, as long as you & Rox promise to wait up for me. I should be there unless the new ride comes in that day, in which case i may have to have a bike building party.

Swanson is super soggy. There were 9 folks trying to ride it this afternoon. One guy left a rut three inches deep atleast 25 feet long. I asked them not to ride after showing them what they were doing to the trail.

Erosion is setting in on some of the down hill areas.

Two more days of this weather and it should be good...oh wait its supposed to rain/snow again on Thursday.

LtD and I walked some of the trail at L&C Monday evening some of it was ok BUT there is still ICE on some of the north facing downhills which meant the ground was not thawed as of Tuesday morning. The ice is probably gone now but it was very muddy. STAY OFF PLEASE. I say be patient and give it a week. There obviously was a large amount of deer and foot traffic on the weekend and the trails are looking pretty bad in a couple of spots at L&C. Bikes would be bad.

with a long race this weekend, and my fat arse in tow, i would vote for manawa of all offroad options. but i have no idea of conditions. if my mechanic skills are at least better than my fitness right now, i should have my new ride tuned up and ready for the TNR...

I checked Tranquility Tuesday - slimy and some biking damage already. Ice still on one corner. Needs some trailwork as I imagine most trails do.

I'm trying to get together with Doug and Todd for a couple hours at Tranquility and at L&C this Sunday afternoon to fix the down limbs (chainsaw needed) and eye pokers removed.

Will make time announcements when fixed.

Hiked Swanson today, still very soft with 8" deep equestrian divets behind fire station. Trail is torn up...needs more drying time.
