Some powerful entity has been clearing the valley at Jewell and piling up trees both live and dead. Hopefully this is just part of a general park cleanup plan, and not the start of work on the frisbee course, since the bike trail zigzags all the way through this area.
When I was out there last saturday, there were about 6 guys with chainsaws. I was shocked when they said they had permission to clear the way for a Frisbee golf course.
I got a chance to get out to Jewell today. Just curious who bootlegged the short cut on the down hill portion ( you know the one with the auto rim jump). That was far more upsetting than anything that was done by the frisbee golfers.

Oh, they destroyed the best jump on the trail.

Steve is in France the rest of the week, not sure they had permission to clear trees. I'll try to get a hold of Todd Addison.
This is actually part of a city plan, they are going to be putting in a dog park and frisbee golf course in jewel park. Here is a copy of the article:

Is the TNR still on or will it be too wet?
Martin says it dries pretty quick, I'm heading over.
To my knowledge, they have permission, Kent attended the meeting.
