KANSAS CITY, MO.
RAPTURE IN MISERY 6/12

It's time to "Get Your RIM ON!"

Endurance junkies, fun seekers, and team players:

The trails at Crowder State Park are buff and awaiting some serious knobby attention.  Camp Grand River will be mountain bike central as riders from all over the Midwest start rolling in on Friday to camp, set up there pits, and kick their legs up in anticipation of  another great "Rapture in Misery 6/12" starting at noon on Saturday, August 14th

Directions, official RIM rules, and details can be found at the Heartland website: http://www.heartlandrace.com/

Registration will start at 9:30 am on Saturday morning and will close at 11:30 am.  Racing starts at Noon sharp.

Primitive camping will be allowed on site.  Please park in designated areas and "NO CAMPFIRES", as we will have a large group campfire.  For racers arriving on Friday night, Hy-Vee will have a "Rider Feed" from 6:00 to 8:00.  $8.00 will get you a choice of burger, chicken, or brat with sides and drink.  The Green Hills Trail Association will also be serving a pancake breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning for $5.  Earth Riders Trail Association will have smoked meat with sides for the concession on Saturday.  The Earthriders Mountain Bike Patrol will be in attendance patrolling the course and giving assistance as needed.

RIM will once again be timed via Brian Jahelka of Moto Talley.  Times, splits, etc. will be available on the big screen throughout the race day.

Please follow all park rules and drive the speed limit.  We will have law enforcement in the park for the weekend to ensure your safety.

We have our fingers crossed for the weather forecast for Friday and Saturday as a cool front is slated to arrive on Friday.  Please check the Heartland website before traveling.  If "Mother Nature" doesn't cooperate and we have inclement weather and wet conditions, we will post cancellation on Thursday night or Friday morning.  As trail advocates, we will protect our local trails and we want to ensure the best racing experience as possible.   Racing in the mud is just not responsible or fun!

We are looking forward to a great weekend of racing!

Pappy Long

After looking at the temps for tomorrow it looks like it's going to live up to it's name.
