New 29er Forks

You saw it here first. Now you get the rest of the story. Manitou has fallen on hard times of late, it's always hard to see something you helped create deteriorate. But the MRD name is back, the company is moving to Wisco under the HB umbrella. Change is good. From what I read, Manitou is heading back to their roots. TPC damping is back (as of 2007). This is by far the highest quality and most tuneable damping system in the industry. They're also introducing a new air spring system for 2008. But it's unclear if the 29 fork will include this system. One thing it will have is a crown offset option. This means you can effectively change the trail of your current bike by swapping out forks. That's pretty cool. I know my old GF Rig could have used the 47mm offset fork. 2.5" tire clearance is claimed as well. They say the Minute 29 will be available this month. 80-100-120 travel options, stiff reverse arch, new stonger, stiffer crown. I better make a phone call...

Skinny D will be happy to see this, or maybe not, he does like it paper boy style!
